Is Uniqode’s QR Code Analytics Worth It? A 2026 Review

Is Uniqode's QR Code Analytics Worth It? A 2026 Review

Uniqode’s analytics are worth paying for from the Core plan at $49 a month, and not before. Core is the tier on which a scan becomes a record with a time of day, a location, a device type and GPS coordinates. It adds CSV export, a watchlist and feeds into GA4, Sheets and Slack. Essential at $9 counts scans and keeps them for 60 days, which is roughly what a free tool does. The honest verdict for a marketing analyst asked to justify $49 against $0 is that Core buys the report and Essential buys the count. The plans above Core buy filtering, retention and retargeting that most campaigns never touch.

That matters because the analytics question is usually asked in the wrong order. Teams compare the headline price, then discover after the print run that the tier they bought does not record where a scan happened.

Every figure in this review was read from Uniqode’s pricing table, help centre and product pages on 21 and 22 October 2026, with the pricing cards re-checked on 25 October 2026 and prices in USD. The plan table under the pricing cards was read in a browser, because it renders as a script rather than as text.

TL;DR

  • Uniqode scores 83 of 100 as an analytics product, winning four of five criteria against the reference tools and losing value for money to Scanova’s $9 plan.
  • Essential ($9) gives standard reports and 60 days of data, and Core ($49) adds time of day, location, device, GPS, CSV export, a watchlist and 1,000,000 scans a year.
  • Plus ($99) adds ScanGuard anomaly filtering and 180 days of data, and Business+ ($399) adds lifetime data, custom reports, Meta Pixel and Google Ads retargeting.
  • Weekly and monthly email reports go to every user, and GA4, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and Slack feeds start on Core.
  • The catch: two Uniqode pages disagree on lifetime retention, “AI Analytics Insights” on the $9 card is defined nowhere, and no UTM field appears in the dashboard.

What you get on Essential for $9

Essential records that a scan happened and little else about it. The pricing table, read on 21 October 2026, gives the plan 15 dynamic codes, 50,000 scans a year, a 60-day data access period and standard reports. It places crosses against the four tracking rows (time of day, location, device type, GPS coordinates), the CSV export row and the watchlist row. The Essential card lists “AI Analytics Insights” among its inclusions, and no page read for this review says what that feature does.

For the analyst running a 12-month print campaign, Essential has two further limits. The data window is 60 days, so the first quarter’s scans are gone by the time the half-year review happens. The integrations row is empty, so nothing leaves the dashboard except by screenshot. The help centre adds that weekly and monthly analytics emails go to all users, which is the one reporting path Essential shares with the tiers above it.

What Core adds for $49

Core is where Uniqode’s analytics become a product, and Uniqode’s pricing table shows the switch in one column. Time of day, location, device type and GPS coordinates all switch on, together with CSV export and the watchlist. The data window grows to 90 days. The scan allowance rises to 1,000,000 a year, and the integrations row fills in with eight tools, from Zapier and Make to GA4, Sheets, Excel and Slack.

The help centre describes what the dashboard shows at this level: day-wise and hour-wise analysis of total and unique scans, and device analysis as a “Percent share of operating systems”. Browser analysis and a geo map that ranks the top 10 countries, states and cities complete the view. A Uniqode help article on GPS analytics confirms that “GPS location tracking is available for Pro/Core plan and above”, where Pro is the older name for Core. The Uniqode QR Code tracking page lists eight things a team can track, from total and unique scans and performance by date and time to location, device type, operating system, browser and the best-performing codes. It says reports can be exported as CSV or PDF files on the plans that include it.

The feeds are the practical difference for a monthly report. A Google Sheets add-on, a GA4 integration and a Slack channel that announces scans in real time all start on Core, and a webhook fires on events such as form.response.submitted. For the 12-month campaign, Core answers every question the analyst will be asked except one, which is what happened more than 90 days ago.

What Plus and Business+ add

Plus at $99 a month changes two rows. The data access period rises to 180 days, and ScanGuard turns on. Uniqode’s security page describes ScanGuard as a built-in anomaly detection feature that keeps “suspicious scans” out of the numbers so that “your analytics stay accurate and reliable”. A blog post adds that ScanGuard “flags unusual scan spikes and geographic anomalies that signal tampering”. Plus also brings 3 user seats and role-based access, and that matters when more than one person reads the dashboard.

Business+ at $399 a month, the top published tier on the pricing cards re-checked on 25 October 2026, is where retention stops being a number. The table lists a lifetime data access period, custom reports, and the Meta Pixel and Google Ads integrations that let a brand retarget people who scanned. Scan counts reach the Pixel every 24 hours, according to the help centre, and a separate help article confirms that “You can schedule custom reports on Business+ and Enterprise plans”. The scan allowance reaches 8,000,000 a year, and the integrations list is the same as Core’s plus the two advertising platforms.

What does the new custom plan change?

Uniqode has shared with the author plan details for a reworked Business+ tier, built as a custom quote rather than a fixed $399. The analytics rows in those details are worth setting beside the live page. On the live page, Business+ carries a lifetime data period, custom reports and the Pixel and Google Ads integrations at $399 a month.

In the shared details, the data access period, the number of dynamic codes, the annual scan allowance, the platform users and the organisations all become custom values set in the quote. Custom reports and a custom data period remain, geolocation-based codes become unlimited, and the API rises to 100 requests a second and 2,000,000 a month.

Two things follow for an analyst reading both pages. The analytics features of the top tier do not shrink under the new structure, since custom reports, the custom data period and the advertising integrations all appear in the shared list. The price moves from a published $399 to a conversation, and on 25 October 2026 the pricing page still shows $399 and the fixed allowances, so a buyer should treat the figures in this review as the live ones and the custom structure as the one to ask about.

How the analytics were scored

Five criteria, 100 points, scored for a marketing analyst justifying the Core plan against a free tool for a year-long print campaign. Scanova, Bitly and QRCodePrime are the reference points on each row.

  • Metrics available on Core (30 points): Uniqode 28, with time of day, location, device, OS, browser, GPS, unique scans and top performers, and no UTM field found in the dashboard.
  • Data retention per tier (25 points): Uniqode 20, with 60, 90, 180 days and lifetime by tier, against Scanova’s no-time-limit analytics from $9 and Bitly’s 1 year at $199.
  • Export and reporting paths (20 points): Uniqode 17, with CSV and PDF export, weekly and monthly emails to every user, Sheets and GA4 feeds, and custom reports held to the top tier.
  • Bot and anomaly filtering (15 points): Uniqode 12, with ScanGuard from Plus at $99, against Scanova’s bot traffic filter from $5 and Bitly’s filtering “to the best of our ability”.
  • Value against the $49 price (10 points): Uniqode 6, and Scanova wins the row with analytics that never expire on a $9 plan.

That gives a total of 83 of 100 points. Not a landslide. The two rows Uniqode loses points on are the two a free or cheaper tool can match, and the three it wins are the three a report is built from.

Uniqode analytics by tier

The rows below come from the plan table under the pricing cards, read in a browser on 21 October 2026, with the top tier shown as the pricing page prints it.

What is missing, unclear or contradictory?

Three things, and the first is a contradiction on Uniqode’s own pages. The pricing table gives Business+ a lifetime data access period. A help article on the analytics feature says “Analytics are available for the most recent 60 or 90 days, depending on your plan” and that lifetime analytics are “Available only on the Enterprise plan”. A separate help article from November 2025 agrees with the pricing table. A buyer paying $399 for lifetime data should get the retention promise in writing rather than rely on either page.

The second is “AI Analytics Insights”, which appears on the Essential card and is defined on no page read for this review. The third is the absence of a UTM field. Scan events can go to GA4 and the dashboard offers labels, folders and Linkpages, but a campaign manager who wants a utm_campaign value on every destination adds it to the URL by hand, while Scanova lists UTM parameters on its $5 Basic plan. Uniqode also publishes two uptime figures, 99.9% on its enterprise page and 99.99% on its pricing page, and that is a small thing a reviewer notices.

When is Scanova, Bitly or QRCodePrime the better buy?

Scanova is the better buy when retention outweighs everything else. The Scanova analytics rows give basic analytics with no time limit from Lite at $9 a month and advanced analytics by time, city, country, device, handset and browser from Standard at $35. Exact GPS arrives on Pro at $75, and bot traffic filtering is on every plan including Basic at $5. An analyst who needs the whole year visible in one dashboard gets that from Scanova at $9 and from Uniqode at $399.

Bitly is the better buy for a team that already runs its links through Bitly and wants a year of history, which Premium provides at $199 a month with city-level and device data. It is a poor buy for anyone else, because Core at $10 keeps 30 days and shows only the top 10 countries. QRCodePrime is the better buy when the budget is zero and the question is small. The QRCodePrime free dynamic analytics page lists total scans, location and device on 10 codes free for life, with no export and no alerts, and for a single poster that is enough.

Uniqode is the better buy when the report has to carry a location, a device and a time for every scan, and feed a spreadsheet on its own. It is also the buy when the vendor must publish a plan-by-plan table of what the analytics include.

Questions people ask about Uniqode analytics

Does Uniqode show where a QR code was scanned?

Yes, from the Core plan at $49 a month. The pricing table ticks scans by location and scans by GPS coordinates on Core and above, and the help centre describes a geo map with the top 10 countries, states and cities. A separate article confirms that GPS tracking is available on Core and higher plans. Essential at $9 records the scan without a location.

How long does Uniqode keep QR code analytics?

60 days on Essential, 90 days on Core, 180 days on Plus and lifetime on Business+, according to the pricing table read on 21 October 2026. One help article describes the window as the most recent 60 or 90 days depending on plan and places lifetime analytics on Enterprise, so confirm the retention term in writing for the tier you buy.

What is ScanGuard in Uniqode?

ScanGuard is Uniqode’s anomaly detection feature, described on its security page as a filter for “suspicious scans” that keeps analytics “accurate and reliable”, and on its blog as a flag for “unusual scan spikes and geographic anomalies that signal tampering”. The pricing table places it on Plus ($99) and Business+. Essential and Core do not include it at any price.

Does Uniqode integrate with Google Analytics 4?

Yes, from the Core plan at $49 a month. The pricing table ticks GA4 on Core, Plus and Business+, a help article covers the setup, and the tracking page says scan events can be sent to GA4, BI and AI tools. Essential has no integrations row on the pricing table.

Can you export Uniqode QR code analytics to CSV?

Yes, from Core and above, where the pricing table ticks CSV export, and the tracking page adds PDF export depending on plan. Weekly and monthly analytics reports are emailed to every user on every plan, and a Google Sheets add-on from Core lets a team manage codes and pull data in a spreadsheet.

Is Uniqode analytics free?

No. Uniqode’s free tier covers static codes only, which cannot be tracked, and dynamic codes with analytics start at $9 a month on Essential, billed annually, with a 14-day trial. Location, device and GPS data, CSV export and the GA4 and Sheets feeds start on Core at $49.

The one report to build in week one

Build the report the finance director will ask for in month twelve, and build it in week one. Give it a column for every field the Core plan records: date, hour, city, device, operating system, unique scans and the code’s label. Then check the data window against the campaign length, because a 90-day window and a 12-month campaign means exporting the CSV every quarter or paying for Plus.

If the report fills on Core, the $49 is justified by the first month’s numbers. If it only fills on Business+, the question is no longer whether Uniqode’s analytics are worth it, but whether lifetime retention is worth $350 a month more than 90 days.
