Google Ads Overview

To connect your Google Ads account to Sellbery, you need the following:

  1. Client ID for Google Console API;
  2. Client Secret for Google Console API;
  3. Your Google Ads Client Account ID.

Where to get your Client ID and Client Secret for Google Console API

Go to Google APIs and Services

Create a project for Sellbery.

Next, enable Content API for Shopping. To do that, click on the “ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES” button at the top of the page.

On the next page run a search for Content API for Shopping. Then click on the “Enable” button.

Navigate back to Google APIs and Services page, in the left menu choose “Credentials” and click on the “OAuth consent screen” tab.

On the consent screen you are required to fill out the “Application name” and “Authorized domains” fields.

You can use any application name, e.g. “Sellbery”.

The Authorized domain must be sellbery.com (without www or https).

Then click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen.

Now you can proceed with creating credentials. Click “Create credentials” and choose “OAuth client ID”.

On the next screen choose “Web application”.

In the opened form, fill out the “Name” field. You can use any name, e.g. “Sellbery”.

In the field “Authorized JavaScript origins” paste this: https://app.sellbery.com

In the field “Authorized redirect URIs” paste this: https://app.sellbery.com/application/oauth

Click “Create”.

You will be redirected to your newly created credentials. Copy and paste the client ID and client secret into the matching fields in your Sellbery account.

Where to get your Google Ads Client Account ID

  1. Log in to your Google Ads account.
  2. In the top right corner, locate the 10-digit number.
  3. Copy and paste this number in the matching field in your Sellbery account.

Connect using your existing Merchant Center account

Now that you have the required information, all that is left is to add your Google Merchant Center ID.

If you already have an account in Google Merchant Center, log in to it. Copy the Merchant ID from the top left corner of the page and paste it to the matching field in the Sellbery App.

Once you are done, click on the “Connect” button and you will be redirected to the Google account sign-in page.

Sign in or choose the account that you use in Google Ads, and then click on the “Allow” button to let Sellbery manage your campaigns and manage your product listings and accounts.

After that, you will be redirected back to your Sellbery account. The connection will be finalized automatically.

Once you have completed all the Google Ads setup, you can proceed with the next steps. If your Google Merchant Center contains all the products that you want to advertise, go ahead and create your first Google Smart Shopping campaign.

Create your Merchant Center account

If you do not have a Google Merchant Center account, you can create it from the Sellbery App directly.

Note!

By using the following instructions you are creating a fully-functional Merchant Center sub-account. This sub-account will be linked to Sellbery’s Merchant account. You will be able to upload products and use all features of your Merchant sub-account but you will not be able to unlink it from Sellbery or close the sub-account yourself.

If you do not wish to create a sub-account, go to Google Merchant Center and create a new Merchant account there.

Choose “Create new account” in the settings and enter an account name. It can be anything, for example, the name of your online store.

Once you are done, click on the “Connect” button and you will be redirected to the Google account sign-in page.

Sign in or choose the account that you use in Google Ads, and then click on the “Allow” button to let Sellbery manage your campaigns, product listings, and accounts.

After that, you will be redirected back to your Sellbery account. The connection will be finalized automatically.

Once you have completed all the Google Ads setup, you can proceed with the next steps. If your Google Merchant Center contains all the products that you want to advertise, go ahead and create your first Google Smart Shopping campaign.

Request link to Google Ads in Merchant Center

Links are always initiated from Merchant Center. You can link multiple Google Ads accounts to a single Merchant Center account, or a single Google Ads account to multiple Merchant Center accounts.

To link to your own Google Ads account:

  1. In your Merchant Center account, go to the 3-dot icon dropdown and then click Account linking.
  2. Select Google Ads.
  3. Under “Your Google Ads Account”, find the Google Ads customer ID of the account you want to link. You can find the customer ID at the top of any Google Ads page when you’re signed in, near your email address.
  4. Click Link.

If you do not see your Google Ads customer ID under “Your Google Ads Account” or want to connect a different account use this manual:

  1. In your Merchant Center account, go to the 3-dot icon dropdown and then click Account linking.
  2. Select Google Ads.
  3. Under “Other Google Ads accounts,” enter the Google Ads customer ID of the account you want to link. You can find the customer ID at the top of any Google Ads page when you’re signed in, near your email address.
  4. Click Add.

Approve link requests in Google Ads

When a Merchant Center account sends you a request to link, the invitations will appear in the table on the “Linked accounts” page for Merchant Center in Google Ads.

  1. Sign into your Google Ads account.
  2. Click the tools icon build in the upper right corner of your account.
  3. Under “Setup,” click Linked accounts.
  4. Under “Google Merchant Center,” click Details.
  5. Find the account you want to link. The “Status” column will say “Pending.” Click View details in the “Actions” column and review the request details.
  6. To approve the link, click Approve. If you want to link these accounts later, a new link request will need to be sent from Merchant Center.

Activate Conversion Tracker

Before you start creating campaigns, you need to activate the Conversion Tracker. Click on the [+] icon at the top of the page to add a new tracker.

Select the kind of conversions that you want to track. Choose “Website” to track sales and other actions on your website.

Next, fill out the “Create your website conversion action” form and click “CREATE AND CONTINUE”.

Then, set up the tag to add to your website, for example, “Use Google Tag Manager”, and click “Next”.

On the next page, click “Done” to finalize the Conversion Tracker activation.

Create Campaigns

Once you have completed the Google Ads setup and you have all the necessary products in the connected Merchant Center, you can start creating campaigns.

 

To create a new campaign, go to the Google Ads component in your Sellbery account and click on the “Campaigns” tab.

Then click on the “Create New Campaign” button.

 

Fill out the “Campaign name” field, select the country where products are sold, set the campaign budget, and click “Continue”.

Select products that you want to include in your shopping campaign and continue by clicking on “Google Ads Preview”.

Check your ad preview, this is how your ads will be displayed on Google Search, YouTube, and Google Display.

Click on the “Start Campaign” button to start the campaign.

To finalize the action you need to enter the password of your Sellbery account and click “Confirm”.
