When a customer looks for something on Amazon they can narrow down the search results using the product categories and subcategories. Amazon uses a hierarchy of Browse Nodes to organize items for sale in their catalog. So, when uploading products to Amazon, you need to assign Browse Nodes to each product to ensure that it is listed in the correct category.

Browse Nodes are compulsory for several Amazon locales: Canada, Germany, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Japan.

Sellbery multichannel listing software provides two ways of automatically assigning Browse Nodes when uploading products. The simpler one is by the means of a CSV file. You need to upload the file into your Sellbery account to add the nodes to your Amazon feed.

To create a CSV file with Browse Nodes do the following:

  1. Download this CSV file template.
  2. In the “Search Term” column add all of your parent SKUs.

Parent SKU is the number/letter combination that identifies the category of a product in your system. It does not take the variations of a product into account.

For example, the product “Men’s Polo Shirt, color White, size S” might have an SKU “1234MPS-W-S”. The parent SKU, in this case, would be the “1234MPS” because the color and size variations are not taken into account, only the category of the product is important.

  1. In the column “Browse Node 1” add the browse node of the primary category of your product.
  2. To find the correct browse node log in to your Amazon Seller Central account.

  3. Go to “Inventory” → “Add Products via Upload”.
  4. Find the “Need to create a product file?” section and click on the “Continue” button there.
  5. There you will see the Product Classifier table where you can find all the necessary category Browse Nodes.

The column “Browse Node 2” is optional, you do not have to fill it in. It is reserved for the cases when you want to list your products in 2 different categories.

Another way to get the Browse Nodes is to generate them via Product Advertising API using your own affiliate credentials. You can read about it in the section “Getting Started with Amazon Product Advertising API”.

Credentials for Amazon Product Advertising API

Amazon Product Advertising API is used for extracting Browse Node IDs and adding this information to your product feeds.

First become an associate using the following instructions.

Then provide access to the Sellbery App using this manual.

To increase prices by the fee amount Sellbery uses an Amazon API method called GetMyFeesEstimate.

With this feature enabled Amazon fees are automatically added to the regular price of all uploaded products.

You can activate this feature by double-clicking your Amazon Export Point and clicking the “Include Fees in Marketplace Pricing” slider button.

Our support team will be happy to save you time by performing all routine check-ups themselves. For that:

  1. Go to the Settings section and find User Permissions.
  2. Fill out the “Name” and “Email” fields on the form.
  3. Then click the “Send invitation” button.

A Sellbery support specialist will receive your invitation to set the integration up.
